Service Description

Join other aspiring Raft Rowers and skilled instructors to enjoy two days of development on one of the best rivers in Oregon! This course will provide a rich experience for individuals interested in learning the skills required to efficiently row a raft on rivers with class I-III rapids. This course includes advanced river reading, safety considerations including; prevention and rescue responses, rowing techniques, skills required to captain an oar raft, how to be an asset in a group and what is required to lead a trip on the river. This course is appropriate for properly outfitted rafts rigged to row. Participants should be familiar with navigating their raft in flat water and some basic rowing mechanics. You need your own Personal Protective Equipment for this course: Helmet, PFD, Cold water layering with a wetsuit or drysuit. You also need access to a rowing raft. (If you don't have a raft currently, please reach out to me and I can offer some suggestions). Camping at Mckenzie Bridge Campground is an option for this course.
